Meet our team members
Our close knit whānau have worked for businesses of all sizes, accounting and business advisory firms from small to large, and are property investors ourselves. We are Chartered Accountants with over 50 years of combined experience.
Kaison Chang
Partner
Before joining Margin Gains, I was a Director/Partner at Baker Tilly Staples Rodway, working in their Business Advisory team. In my role, I acted as the trusted advisor to a number of private clients, family trusts and businesses – specialising in SMEs, Trusts and Property. In my early career I had the opportunity to work in Toronto, Canada and at the NZ branch of an NYSE listed FMCG company.
I am a member of CAANZ, where I am a member on their Public Practice Advisory Board. A proud scarfie, I have a Bachelor of Arts in French and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Economics from the University of Otago. I am also a member of the NZ Institute of Directors.
Jessica Stewart
Director
During my career before joining Margin Gains, I worked in several business advisory roles at mid-tier and big-four chartered accounting firms in NZ and Canada, as well as holding a couple of commercial positions as FM for an NZX listed company, and interim CFO for a not-for-profit.
I am a CAANZ member, a Chartered Accountant, and have a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland. While my career has given me experience across various industries, I really enjoy the variety of challenges that business advisory clients present and like working with business owners to find pragmatic solutions to any issues faced. I’m really proud to be part of a small kiwi business, helping other kiwis succeed!
Susan Brettschneider
Practice Manager
I look after the management of the practice and helping clients with broader needs. I started my career in a mid-tier chartered accounting firm before moving into commercial roles, firstly at one of the big four banks as a Commercial Analyst and then as a Finance Analyst for an NZX/ASX listed company.
I am a Chartered Accountant and member of CAANZ. I studied later in life and gained my Bachelor of Accounting extramurally whilst raising my family and living in Shanghai.
At Margin Gains I enjoy being part of a smaller team of likeminded colleagues who are ready to face any challenges a client may have, to help them grow and navigate an ever-changing business environment.
Jill Chen
Senior Accountant
I am a skilled accountant with a passion for helping businesses achieve their goals. As a senior accountant at Margin Gains Limited, I bring over four years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, tax compliance, and business planning to the table.
I have a Bachelor of Business Analysis in Accounting from the University of Waikato and a am a full CAANZ member. I am committed to using my expertise to help clients across New Zealand reach their full financial potential.

Jasmine Zhang
Senior Accountant
I am a passionate property and small business accountant with 6 years of experience in the field. I really enjoy working with property investors and business owners to understand and grow their portfolios and businesses.
Prior to joining Margin Gains, I attained valuable experience at a reputable accounting firm of a similar size, specialising in taxation.
In addition, I have 11 years of first-hand experience as a small business owner in both China and New Zealand, which greatly enhances my ability to understand and cater to my clients’ needs effectively and efficiently.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from Donghua University in China, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Commerce in Accounting from the University of Auckland. Additionally, I am proud to be a full member of CAANZ, ensuring my commitment to professional standards and continuous growth in my field.
